Anguilla is a flat island, and is located about five miles from
St/Maarten/St Martin.
Unlike most Caribbean islands, Anguilla is not a place you will find the usual vacation crowd.
This is a vacation spot to enjoy away from the tourist crowd, and be pampered at some of the most elegant hotels and resorts in the Caribbean. You will not find major cruise ships docking here, however Windjammer small cruises make an occassional stop.

Some of the best beaches include Maunday's Bay, Rendezvous Bay
(provides great view of St Martin), Road Bay Beach, Crocus Bay, Island Harbour Bay, and Shoal Bay one of the most famous beaches in the Caribbean.
Anguilla Hotels are known for elegance and the Mediterranean/North African architecture - and many visitors feel that the architecture gives the island the feel of the French or Italian Riviera.
You will find a number of fine villas, condos and resorts, most of which are located on long stretches of power sand beaches.
Dining is quite varied on the island - and you will find an large offering of Caribbean, West Indian, French, Greek, Italian, Chinese, American, European and local cuisine. The top resorts offer some of the finest cuisine in the Caribbean. Most of the popular bars are found on the beach, or in the hotels.

Beach lovers will also find many protected coves, and several beaches which are secluded.
On these particular beaches, iguana's, goats and sea turtles might be the only visitors.

Anguilla is located approximately 146 miles east of Puerto Rico, and just 11 miles north of St. Martin/St. Maarten. The island of 16 miles long, and at the widest point just 3 miles.
There is very little rainfall or humidity, and there's the always constant cooling tradewind breezes.
The island's rainy season runs from August through November, and the average temperature is 80 degrees year round.
Boat Racing is the National Sport - The sea and sailing have played an important part in the island’s culture and traditions. Anguilla boasts centuries of maritime history and nautical traditions.
Anguilla is an easy island to explore. One major road runs from the East End to the West End - with smaller roads branching off.
