Nassau, the Capital, is 21 miles long, seven miles wide, and one of the smallest major islands. Nassau is most popular US weekend destination. Americans are attracted to mild climate, casinos, beaches, diving and entertainment.
Paradise Island is located on the big island of New Providence. The ferry transports passengers from Nassau to Paradise Island. Paradise Island has some of the best beaches in the Caribbean.
Cable Beach is also located on New Providence. Cable Beach got its name from being the first place where the Bahamas first cable link to Florida was established. Cable Beach is also known for fine beaches.
Freeport / Lucaya is located on Grand Bahama. Freeport offers endless watersports by day, gambling and entertainment at night, and great beaches.

A flamingo that is well-fed and healthy is vibrantly coloured bright pink and is more desirable as a mate.  A white or pale flamingo, however, is usually unhealthy or suffering from a lack of food.
Conch is a favorite staple of the Bahamian diet and served with salads, chowders and fritters. Conch fritters are a favorite among islanders and visitors.

Natural phenomena - underwater channels of coral emanating light blue aura seen from surface. There are more Blue Holes found in the Bahama Island than anywhere else in the world.

Andros

Untouched, tropical environment. Andros has pine forests filled with exotic flowers,  tropical birds.

Berry Islands

Exceptional beaches, some cays are privately owned while others have no inhabitants.

Main settlement, Bullocks Harbour has few restaurants, stores.

Bimini

A speck in the ocean, just 50 miles from Florida.

Eastern side filled with boat slips, marinas. Western side is one continuos stretch of pristine beach. Famous tourist spots are  Fountain of Youth

Legend has it  Lost City of Atlantis is offshore beneath the waves.
Miles of secluded pink sand beaches, Cat Island offers towering cliffs, dense vegetation.

This tiny island is the perfect place for  seclusion, peace and quiet.
Eleuthera

100 miles long, and only 3 miles wide, pink sand beaches.

At Glass Window, visitors can view the rugged Atlantic on one side of the road, and the calm Caribbean sea waters on
the other side.

Drive North,  take Ferry to Spanish Wells, or Harbour Island.
Actor Johnny Depp bought a whole island in the Exumas.

Favorite dive spot is  Mystery Cave with access to Blue Holes. Boat charters to Exuma Cays Land, Sea Park located off northern coast.

Inagua

Best known for  population of birds. Flocks of Pink Flamingos at Island National Park.

Long Island

Tropic of Cancer runs through the island. Like the name, island is extremely long and thin.

Popular, daring shark dive at Stella Maris. Caves  have ancient carvings from  Lucuyans, the original Indian inhabitants.
San Salvador 

Island has distinction of the Bahamas' most historically significant island.

This was  Columbus first stop in the New World. Columbus arrived at the end of his journey across Atlantic in 1492. Exact location believed to be Fernandez Bay.
The Caribbean Flamingo  adult males grow to a height of nearly six feet tall.
